I have a Cobra with the Xbridge. Even if I unplug and turn everything off, the battery drains. This mod disconnects the battery until you switch it on, using your guitars master volume pot. I replaced the stk volume pot with a alpha 500kA DPDT pot (R-VPP-500KA ) I used another 9 volt battery clip into the existing clip (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062218 )then took the two leads from that clip, to the switch on the pot. I Then took another battery clip from the switch on the pot to the battery (remember to watch the polarity, Negative to negative and positive to positive, using the clips reverses this ) I have been using it for two weeks with no drain on the battery with my guitar plugged in. I posted just as an idea that might help someone? There is a lot of soldering to do, which can be tricky. Maybe there's a better way to do this? but this worked for me.

i think you could have just used the switch on the pushpull to break the black wire connection to the battery. 2 solder joints.

that would only turn it on with the split right? Still, that is a lot easier for someone out there. Tom I used a 160K resistor with a 680pf cap(in parallel), for the high pass filter on the volume pot, is that right? also the old pot measured 400K, my 500k replacement measured 450K? all sounds the same, just asking, thanks for your time on this stuff.

if this is an additional pull pot, it wouldn't affect anything else, just break the black wire to the battery clip.
after thinking about it though, have the up turn off the battery it may be difficult to get it to stay up in the case.
pots usually have a 20% tolerance. so you're in range.
