Mongrel - Curious

On the back of some Mongrels - what is the little "backplate" (don't know what else to call it) for since the guitar has a pickguard? (This is also on some other Andersons with pickguards like Classics.)

like classics, it's an access plate in case you have the switcheroo and want to get to the dip switches inside.

Thanks - this mongrel has a 5-way, VA booster and Add Bridge, but no switcheroo.

years ago when someone ordered a guitar with a 5 way then changed their mind to a switcheroo after the body was made, we decided to put the cavity in everything just in case.
