Here's a really neat thing about Anderson guitars. With their perfect setups and stainless steel frets, every time I slap some new strings on my now 8 year-old TA Cobra S, it feels and plays like a brand new, unplayed, perfectly set-up guitar.

I'm a big fan of new strings -- and of frets that are smooth and shiny like new -- and of guitars that require almost zero maintenance other than string changes.

You know, this really is true. I mean I do have to tweak the necks seasonally. But the bridge saddles don't float around like Fenders, the frets never need work. It really is a plug and play instrument.

Excellent point!

love that too. sometimes i'll pull out a guitar i haven't played in quite some time and it feels just like it did before.

I've never had to touch the neck on my 2003 HDT. My other guitars do require seasonal truss bar tweaks. I have noticed a slight bit of wear on one of the frets on the HDT and a slightly less than glass smoothness all around. Still in better shape than the rest.

Adding to this... It makes them easier to sell as well. People know they aren't going to get one with 'issues' assuming it hasn't been messed with.

mahogany necks for sure need to messed with more. they move more with the weather. stainless frets will get a roughness form the strings slapping them. some peoples technique makes it worse than others. a super easy clean up is 600 or finer sandpaper on a rubber block lightly rubbed sideways across the frets evenly from end to end. you're not taking enough material off to notice or mess with leveling.

All I ever need to do with my Classic is clean it and change the strings.

So true, JoeB, so true!!

Andys are so easy to play that they make you a better player as soon as you grab one. It's not easy in the sense of thin neck, thin strings, wimpy guitar. They are just set up so perfectly, that even with heavy strings, and a long scale length, they are just easier to play well, compared to many other high end guitars.

My 10 year old picked up my Hollow Classic tonight. "Can you show me some chords please".

Seems she likes Andy's too!
