I ordered an SF2 and mounted in neck position (have not wired yet) and noticed that the poles are wider than my string spacing. High and low e strings are just missing outside circumference of outer poles. Are there different pole spacings on any SF model? Or do SF2 (recommended for bridge) have wider spacing than SF1? Maybe the magnetic filed is still wide enough but again E poles are not under any of string.

all the sf's are the same, and the same as a vintage strat. it's one of those weird things that leo did. 3 pickups all with the same pole spacing. take a look at any strat. our soft field is not particular at all about alignment, our humbuckers are the same spacing and they work perfect in either position.

Anderson's larger pole pieces don't seem to cause drop outs.

I've finally had my new SC's installed and they're fantastic. :D

Kinman makes his singles with 3 seperate spacings for bridge, middle and neck and I think it does matter with that style of pickup and looks better also.

Never understood why it's not more common place.
