Tom / guys,
Heres a quick question for you to ponder.
If you could only have one guitar in the world to own and not sell on what would it be?
today?
it's a constant quest, because it's a moving target. i was perfectly happy with what i was using 2 years ago, then out of boredom or just wanting diversity i started playing with this p90 thing. it opened up different possibilities and fun. that will likely change as time passes, but i seem to be narrowing my search and need the guitar to do less options as i refine my abilities(or maybe limit my breadth of needs).
right now the must have pieces are 2 pq's, trem, short scale. but it could be a solid mahogany guitar or a hollow alder body, both are fun and do what i need them to do.
i recently played one of my favs from 2 years ago and had a great time. i can also pickup my short t with m's and have a blast. just don't make me play a strat.
Actually the Bulldog is what I've been dreaming about for YEARS. Then Tom comes out with these quiet P90 style pickups. You're killing me here, Tom. :D

I'm done thank you.
Seriously, you have no idea how many times I almost sell everything else. I use these two about 90 - 95% of the time. I use the others just to make sure they still play, to be honest. I've had the Crowdster almost 4 years, not bored with it. I've had the Hollow Cobra almost 2. Also... not bored...

Oooh that p90 thing sounds interesting ? I do so very much like the idea of that.
Right im gonna throw a curve ball now.
One guitar to own that isnt made by tag.
Mine would be the top of the range rg ibanez i forget the model number.
My next dream guitar would be an ibanez but made by tom, all i need to do is pick six numbers !

That is the date on my TA Hollow T that will never be sold.. still pretty much stock, broken in with a few dings..frets been dressed a time or 2 and knobs changed but other than that..it is my go to and everything guitar. it vibrates and resonates in the palm of your hand.

My Cobra S fits the bill. I suppose I'd like it to sound the same and be a bit lighter but I'm not expecting Tom to start breaking the laws of physics - yet.

I keep going back to a classic. So I would have to say the Classic would be the one. Until I get a Mongrel....Not to soon anyway.... Stop it!...Alright! what can I sell?...Oh Boy!.......Stop!....

My Hollow Drop Top that I've had since 2003 seems to be the one. I've had some really nice instruments since then, including a TAG Classic that I still own, but the HDT is always the go-to. It's light, it sounds amazing for any style needed, and it's beautiful.

I'd have to agree with tom on the pqs. I borrowed a cobra from tom with the pqs in it and if I could I probably would drop those pups in my CT... damn different footprints. Tom, can you custom make me some pqs that will fit!?!?!
My Anderson 7 thats coming soon ;) Haha yeah that actually probably is true. But I think a Bulldog with hollowed chambers and a piezo pickup would be awesome. Actually any Anderson's with a piezo would be rad. I found a Baritom with piezo on eBay a few months ago that I'm kicking myself for not buying. Should've sold some stuff to get the cash and just purchased it :( Oh well, there's plenty of good Andy's around.

So far, I would have to say my Drop Top has eclipsed all of my previous guitars. After owning the Anderson it really showed how limited my old Gibson and EBMM Petrucci was in tone. What it did, it did it very well. Perhaps it was the pickups. I just can't believe how diverse the Drop Top is. I can actually play rhythm with the neck pickup without it sounding muddy or dull. Very cool! I can't wait to add the Classic I have on the way in the next few weeks.

Ive just googled olson guutars . They look very nice tom it has to be said
I've been done since my Drop Top arrived in 2005
There's an old story that Tom Anderson ruined all my other guitars.. in my case, most definately. :D
Some may remember that I discovered last year that I'm going deaf.
I'm almost totally deaf now which means that my Anderson is my reference for guitar tone because it's the tone I knew best ( 1000 gigs ) and remember.
I know it's tone through the way it resonates against my hands and body, as well as what little I can hear.
I can even tell if it's out of tune by the way it resonates !
I think I'm lucky that my reference is an Anderson not some other guitar. :D

I've had my 96 Classic since 2000 and am in the process of refurbishing it. I have also owned just about everything Tom makes. This guitar was purchased as a "pick-me-up" a week after my Dad passed away so theres a sentimental attachment. I kept trying to find a mate for it and have bought/traded and sold at least 15 other TAs around it. I briefly condsidered selling it at one point, but its loaded and plays as well as new..(almost) and has been on over 2000 gigs with me in and out of the US. It has developed its own character, even with all the mods, dings, scratches and upgrades. The refurb I'm doing (new Gold hardware, new bridge) is a testament to its longevity with me. So long/short, I guess I'll have it from here on out.
PS. I am still learning with my 07 Cobra and I had a 3M Atom briefly that I traded to my tech a few years ago and miss that one too, so I'm not done yet, but I have my fav anyway.
