Hey guys, I am very much considering a new/used anderson but, I don't have the coin to go straight Crowdster Plus 2 at this point. I was wondering if anyone knows what the cost is to do the upgrade from a base Crowdster? I am hoping I might be able to get a Crowdster used and then have it upgraded. I would definitely appreciate any input, thanks!

plus to plus 2 is $250
crowdster to plus is $450.
crowdster to plus 2 is $650.
when you go from crowdy to plus or plus 2 the knobs are not in exactly the same layout as original plus or plus 2. the extra volume knob is forward a couple inches.

Wow, I believe a reply from the man himself! Alright now to get my hands on a crowdy at all costs. I need something new to spice of Sunday morning services for the congregation!
I appreciate your help Tom.

Oh its great....Used mine tonight. Electric sounds fantastic and the acoustic side makes me never want to play my Taylor again. It feels great as well. I haven't even played it stereo yet.

david, especially considering that you're using this guitar in a worship setting, there is absolutely nothing better. buying a crowdy is both a purchase and an investment that you and everyone you share music with will enjoy. my c+ is currently with tom getting upgraded. keep us posted on your progress.

Couldn't have said it better. This guitar was pretty much made for the worship. I never would never, ever, ever, ever think about playing my Taylor 714 in a church service even if I was just playing acoustic only. Selling my Taylor T5 to get the crowdster Plus 2 was the best thing I could ever do. Not only do I get a better acoustic, but It is a way better electric with more options (oh and its green which makes it way cooler). It's very comfortable playing electric or acoustic. The neck feels great, and just by looking at the bridge you can tell there was plenty of time spent trying to get things right. Anyway back to worship with this guitar.....On Sunday I am playing electric only. I am playing my Crowdster which is my only electric guitar right now. I must say I am very content. This is the only guitar I need right now. The neck pickup has that nice roll back clean sound to it. With a little bit of gretchish tele twang to it that is really great for clean licks....From the Inside Out, Came to My Rescue, Mighty to Save. The Bridge can get some nice crunch out of it, Happy Day, Glory to God, No One Like You, All Because of Jesus. Played all these songs with the pickups, fantastic. It can be an electric on its own and still sound fabulous. Playing Acoustic and Electric at the same time is great. Works well when you have an electric guitarist soloing but you want to keep the electric rhythm going. I am using My Axe-Fx and two wireless packs for my stereo setup and it works great. I will post a video of it one day.

Tom, If we send a crowdster in for the upgrade to + or ++ what is your turn around time?
Could you sell me a new case for my crowdster? Preferably the one formed to the guitar, as opposed to the straight case. If so, how much do they cost?
Does anyone have any recommendations on strap locks you know work well with the crowdster?
turn around is usually a week. we have not done crowdster to plus 2 but it could be done. the warning is that the knobs got moved on the plus to make room for the extra knob. when doing a retro the extra knob has to move forward from where the current one is.
anyone who has had a the plus mod done, does the knob location ever bother you?
case is no problem.
don't personally use strap locks, but some people send us the dunlops. they bolt right on.

I'm a Schaller Strap Lock man since Dunlops have failed on me, but the Shaller's turn by themselves, so neither is a perfect solution.
I don't know about knob position, since mine started out as a Plus and became a Plus 2, but if there was a knob moved much further toward the neck than the volume knob is on my Crowdy, I think it would bug me. Is it much further than that?
As it is, the ergonomics of this guitar are either perfect, or I've just gotten used to it.
