Tom was talking about doing a shortscale S. Is it just me or do the possibilities here boggle the mind? 3 X M's or PQs, but not in the mahogany Cobra format...wow. I recognize the massive programming required for pickguards, but I'd sure like to see a Classic option!
Here's mine: Swampash top on hollow alder, chocolate neck with big frets, 3 M's on a white pearl pickguard, trem. Just to make it perfect, in white sparkle (Pete Anderson is right about white matching all your stage clothes). Yeah, I want it all...

it does totally blur the lines that have been traditionally drawn, but hey this is 2010.

I built a shortscale S some years ago to see how much "strattiness" I lost. The result, for my needs, was very cool. I think a devout stratcat would still like it, but always have a fullscale one also. I also suspect you guys have put in some serious time adjusting for the scale length on both the neck and body, and more importantly the placement of the pickups. I, like Tom, have been working with my hands all my life, so shortscales are just easier for me to play these days. Still need that West Coast sound tho.

If I could get the traditional look of a Classic with a little looser and slightly fatter sound crossed with the playing feel of a Cobra S... I would order one TODAY.

not ready for that yet.
do you all realize how this blurs the lines and laws of nature?
we struggle with so many people having a hard time trying to figure out what would be best for them and this just further complicates it all. we are trying to rethink how to organize models and the whole figuring it out process.

You could just build one for me and I'll sign a non-disclosure agreement. :D

I love my Koa hollow drop top Shorty........it's a LP with a delicious twist!! Now, while I'm not a trem guy, I do know that there is a potentially huge market for a LP like guitar with a Floyd.

This Short T mah/maple with Floyd.........could fit that bill. Very cool, Tom.

After much pondering, I think I have it. One model, everything is an option (body shape, wood, everything) My work here is done:D
