Has there been a posting of the Sage green classic with M series pick ups yet?
I want to hear the owner's interpretation of the sounds he's getting with this cool new axe!

Soon, very soon.
Have a lot to say about this one. I wanted to really give it the run through first to get used to it. I can say that its completely unique and sounds fantastic. More soon, I promise:)

Thank you andersonguy!
I'm just anxious to hear everything I can about them as they sound like they could be the Holy Grail of pick ups.
I'll look forward to your report!
Thanks

Aloha Joe!
Brian Swerdfeger here...
I've got a Cobra with 3Ms and really love 'em. My guitar is wired like Tom's:
1. Neck (full)
2. Neck (split)
3. Neck (full) + Bridge (split)
4. Middle (full) + Bridge (split)
5. Bridge (full)
Every combination is more than usable. The Ms are full without being too big or overly aggressive. Combo positions 3 and 4 offer articulate tones that can be clean, dingy, driven, of full tilt. Position 4 sounds like a girthy strat (without losing any top-end). The neck pu sings well for solos, and is clear/fat for a variety of clean tones. Neck split is low output, but works well when you're playing a overdriven tone with other p-ups and want to get a clean tone without changing amp channels or pedals. The Bridge HB is great for everything. It can grind yet not overtake the band, and you can slam a clean tone with it and get almost a fat-tele thing going on.
I had the privilege of trying all of the switching options and p/u variations through the development of the Ms and found that this combination (M1/M1/M2 - wired as above) worked best for me. I never used the middle pu alone, and found I preferred the neck-split over the neck/middle combo.
Best Always,
B
PS - you can view the Cobra in the Images section

Hey Brian,
Thanks for your input.
Sounds like a cool combo.
Although I think I'm confused.
I thought the idea of the M series was to be able to get great sounds without the hum? With the bridge split and the middle or neck full don't you get a hum?
I'm hoping that they sound killer as humbuckers ie. no hum but with great big single coil voicing. That would be a dream!
Thanks again Brian.

Hey JNess,
With the bridge split, you get a very minor hum, not nearly as much as your traditional single coils. I have just worked them as humbuckers, I originally thought I would have to use my Cobra for this project but the M's are proving very capable. A little tweaking on my amp and Im there.
They are dreamy:D

Yes, the split positions do have noise - but once the drums start, who can tell? <smirk>
The full humcancelling positions are dead quiet.
The Ms have so much personality that they've become my first choice for sessions and live performance.

jness,
Mine is like this:
m1m1m3
1. Neck+pull tone adds bridge+mini splits bridge
2. Neck+ middle+ pull tone adds bridge+mini splits bridge
3. Middle
4. Middle + Bridge plus mini splits bridge
5. Bridge + mini splits bridge
When you go m1m1m3 you can split the bridge. you get 11 different sounds. Maybe we can jam one day. I'll let you test drive the Cobra!
