Hey guys, I have a classic, and I want to mess with trying a floating trem setup after watching Carl Verheyen's strat vids on youtube. I wondered how you guys would recommend doing this, I'm using three springs, do I go parallel, or angle them in, and does anyone mess with angling the claw to stay in tune better. Any help would be appreciated, thanks guys!!

just loosen the 2 claw screws some and retune until you get the float you're looking for providing you have only 3 springs. angling the claw doesn't change anything except spring pressure which you are doing with the 2 screws anyway. you'll have to find a balance between feel and stability. if you get too much float your action will rise so i'd play with a mild amount first to see if you can deal with the float before you mess up the saddles and intonation.

So, will I need to reintonate if I let it float at all? I'm not the best at intonating, maybe I should rethink this. Should I keep the springs parallel, one on each outside and one in the center?
I tried the Verheyen method and by the time i could actually get it to work the way he says, my trem was tilted WAY forward and would have needed loads of other adjustments ie, string height , intonation etc.
I decided that I very rarely use up pulls anyway, so I set it back the way i had it... very slightly tilted forward.
you can float it a little without completely ruining the intonation, yes it will be just a bit off, but it should allow you to see if you like the bridge floating or not. spring position changing is fine tuning, don't worry about that first.
