I bought this tuner because the shop guy told me it had a Buzz Feiten mode, but cannot find any information in the manul or on the web about this supposed feature. Did I get ripped off??

i don't know about ripped off, but if it doesn't say buzz feiten, or isn't programmable, you might want to take it back.

I read the following somewhere online:

The following method is how you can tune your Feiten tuned guitar with a standard boss
TU-12 tuner. Buzz recommends using expensive strobe tuners for this, but you really
don't need one.
1. tune open high E string to E on the tuner.
2. tune 5th fret of B string to E on the tuner.
3. tune 7th-fret harmonic of G string to D on the tuner.
4. tune 7th-fret harmonic of D string to A on the tuner.
5. tune 7th-fret harmonic of A string to E on the tuner.
6. tune 7th-fret harmonic of E string to B on the tuner.

Is this accurate?

If not, which pedal-tuner should I get?

that will get you the beat results for that tuner. the sonic research turbo tuner is my fav by a long margin.

Bring that tuner back, get either the Turbo Tuner or the Peterson Strobostomp. The Strobostomp has the offsets built in. The TT needs them programmed iirc, but this is possible.

+1

I love my turbo tuner.

Sonic Research Turbo Tuner ST 200. http://www.turbo-tuner.com/

It takes about two minutes to program the offsets. Much less money, smaller footprint, and far faster. Makes it really easy to tune to the attack.

TU3 does not do BF.

BTW, until the TT came out I did that Boss harmonic thing. The Peterson did not fit on my board. And I can tell you, on the fly and live with the signal muted it is a pain in the neck to do.

While we're on the topic of BF tuners, I'd like to ask another question. Is there a way to tune down a half-step and still use the BF offsets? I have a DT-7 and I haven't been able to figure out a way to do this.

in the calibrate mode, push down arrow till you see F(for flat). that will be Eb.
