Hi all,

Just joined and I picked up my first TAG today.
A used Cobra with cherry quilt.

Is there a way I can decode the year that it was built using the serial number?
The serial is 03-11-01P.

Loving this guitar- the neck is a bit slimmer than I would usually go for but it is very fast.
The scale length is perfect for it- albeit a major difference for me after years of playing mostly 25.5.

Anyway, thanks for looking.

Regards,

James Richmond

that's the date of manufacture(give or take a few days since we use all the days of the month if we need them. that one is march 11 of 01 in the afternoon.

Thanks for the response Tom.
Ah yes of course.
I forget the US does MM/DD/YY.

(I'm in the UK).

Love the guitar- she's a beauty.

Just as long as you don't invade the UK, we're golden. :-)

Thanks again.

Edit: actually one more question.
Are the buckers splitting in positions 2 & 4 or are they going parallel ?
Sounds like a split but when I tap both coils with a screwdriver I can hear a small amount coming from the bottom coil- could just be bleed I guess but not sure.
