Is it alright to store an amp cabinet in original box/packaging in a garage? I have a Mesa Boogie 2-12 cabinet and an Egnater Rebel 1-12 cabinet.
I'm getting ready to move and need to clear out my "musical clutter" so the room looks bigger. I live in Ohio where the humidity can get close to 70% with the temp in the low 90s during the summer. Once I move in August my stuff will be back in a controlled environment.

You really don't need the box. It should be fine. in fact the box might create a place for other types of life to fester. Cover it with a sheet, or something breathable, to keep the dust off. I kept most of my amp/PA gear in the garage for years. Makes for quick load out for gigs.
A lot of this stuff that we baby, TV's stereo gear, PC's etc, sits in non air conditioned or unheated warehouses for weeks or months waiting for shipment. You should see what some of these places look like overseas! Then they travel in trucks at all kinds of temps. So a few weeks or a month or so is fine.

Guitars, on the other hand, are a different story. DO NOT LEAVE THEM OUTSIDE OR CARRY IN THE TRUNK OF YOUR CAR EVER!

Thanks for the input and advice. I didn't want to weather rot the speakers.
No guitars in cars has been my rule since a fellow guitarist melted his new Ovation guitar in the back seat of his Chevette (mid-eighties).
Blessings!

Yeah I don't see that happening if its only going to be out there a few months.
You can, if you are concerned, rent a small temp controlled storage shed. Public Storage does 5x5 climate controlled for $46 a month. I am sure there are similar deals from other firms.
