Wow! That is sweet.
I'm trying to decide between Jacks, Arctic, or Ocean for a droptop. That's putting the Arctic up front.

I wonder how hard to put a piezo in one of those... hmmm... must save money!
we do have a fishman bridge at the shop. need to install it to see how the radius works and how it sounds as a bridge.

So there might be some hope for us two-voice guys... not just with Bulldogs but maybe Atoms and the whatever-you-got-coming-next? That sounds potentially cool!

Just got back from So. Cal. Played this Bulldog at Mesa Hollywood. Sounded amazing. Very well balanced and light (for non hollow). Beautiful finish and great playing neck. Low rise frets were especially enjoyable (never played them). Very connected to the fretboard, but with added ease of SS frets. Easily less than 8 and probably closer to 7 lbs. Great tone especially through the electrodyne.
What a candy store that place is. Tons of TAGs and amps. All very nice. I was there when they sold the consignment Classic HSS. Nice guy bought it and put it through it's paces. Was able to really hear the switcheroo change the tones.

Hi Dane ,
Never played low rise too , only heavy and jumbo:rolleyes: .
How the bending looks like with so much wood underneath of fingers ? Can you still play fast ?
Pls , elaborate those low risers a little bit more if you don't mind .
Thanks,
Zoran

Was able to play just as fast as my heavy frets on my HTC. Notes still fretted easliy without heavy pressure. Frets seem to be similar 'width', just not as 'tall'. Bending was no problem either. I'm guessing if someone does a lot of 'sweep' picking or high speed metal licks the low rise frets may not be the best, but I play mostly classic rock & blues and had no trouble. They actually don't feel nearly as 'low' as I thought they would.
I have a Taylor acoustic guitar with pretty low frets (typical acoustic, nothing custom ordered), but the SS low-rise felt 'bigger' than these with greater ease to play.
I've been scared of lower frets mostly because they usually start out sounding great, but with limited wear, buzzing comes into play too quickly. We all know the SS frets don't wear, so the initial sound should last a good long while.

with the slipperiness of stainless, i find bending a breeze even on small frets. i don't feel the need to get so much finger meat under the string. my fingertips stay in better condition with the lower frets as well with just that little bit of wood contact.
lows or heavies should not wear any better or worse than each other. of course with bigger frets you can potentially dress them more times but they then start feeling like lower frets.
