FYI...

I only found out today that Will Owsley died April 30.

He was a great musician, guitarist, singer and songwriter. I guess he is best known as Amy Grant's long time guitar player (some 16 years).

I can't say that Jerry hasn't done some dates for Amy, but Will had been her main touring guy for something like 16 years. He also had

I don't have access to YouTube here at work, but search "Lead Me On" and I think it's the first video. That is actually from MWS's 20th Anniversary DVD where Amy and Will came on as guests. Will is playing a stunning looking burst LP and doing quite well. I happen to love that song to this day and read somewhere that Will said something about it is all in the timing on that one...no kidding!

Yeah, that is a big time bummer for me. The first Owsley CD on Giant, came out in 1999 and made a huge impact on me. Reminded me of why I dug great pop music in the first place. Saw him play with his quartet in a small club here in KC and they just killed. Fantastic player, singer and all around guy. His own tunes are well crafted and executed on CD, but live he took it to another level. They did a cover of "My Old School" with all the solos as a four piece and it was stunning. He will be missed.
