What's the thinking behind stuff like "full contact" saddles or G&L's saddle-lock bridge (there's a screw on the side that squishes the saddles together)? Most of these products come with some claims about "transmitting more vibration to the body," but I'm not sure that's an unambiguously good thing for an electric. Has Anderson ever messed around with something like this?

(By the way, I am _not_ complaining about the TAG bridges. I'm extremely happy with them. Just curious.)

i think a lot of the bridge claims are marketing tools. i remember when the first trems came out with tracks for the height screws to keep the saddles from moving side to side. the tracks were way wider than the screw so they did nothing. i think if the saddles fit together without spaces there is no need to clamp them in place. in the old days machining tolerances were not what they are today so there were lots of guitar parts that were not made all that well so many band aids were invented.
