My band, Fields of Amber, just recorded our 4 song demo. I used my Tom Anderson Cobra S through a Soldano SLO100 for most of the tracking with a tiny bit of PRS/Mesa Triaxis mixed in. The last song, Dirty Slave, was on an Ibanez Universe 7 string because I don't have my Drop Top 7 yet ;) Here is a download link for anyone who wants to check it out....

I am so pumped on getting my 7. I also saw a killer Rosewood-topped Hollow T Classic that plays beautifully at Rockit Music here in Brea, CA. I need more money haha.

Wow!!!! Very nice, Cody!!!!   Really dig your sound! "Come around" would have to be my favorite for now.
VERY nice Cobra also! What's the finish on that one? Anyway, I can't wait for my 7s either!!! Almost there... 2 more months! :D :D :D

Cheers,
Markus

Thanks markus! I'm glad you like our music and the Cobra :) My Cobra S is an Arctic Blue Burst w/Binding. I got the Even Taper neck on it instead of the Happy Medium. It's pretty sweet. H1-H3 pickups.

Yeah I'm super pumped on getting the Anderson 7's in. I got mine with a Koa top with Chocolate Maple neck with no inlays :D I try not to think about it so much because it makes the days pass too slow haha.

Nice! I love the look of that Arctic Blue quilted top!
As for the 7s... I hear you! Nice choice of woods with the Koa top and Chocolate maple neck! I was a little less creative with mine and went with some classic combinations... can't wait!!! :D

Cool, yeah I like the Arctic Blue Burst color. At the time I ordered it, I originally wanted Arctic Blue (no burst) but Roy told me they had switched what company they got the paint from, or something to that effect, and they had to remix the color and it didn't look the same as the examples on the site. So I opted for the Arctic Blue Burst instead. Since then, they've perfected the Arctic Blue again from what I understand.

What options did you get for your 7? I got mine over a Basswood body. People on other sites really bash and talk crap on Basswood a lot (maybe because Ibanez and others give Basswood a poor rep) but I heard it's a great versatile balanced wood that goes well with many different tops. I know that if anyone can make Basswood right, it's Tom Anderson ;)

I got a Deep Ocean Blue Drop Top 7 with a Quilted Maple top over a Mahogany back with an H1 and an HN3+ and an Alder Pro Am 7 in Sheer Translucent Red with 2 SFs and an HN3+. Both of them will have a Floyd Rose bridge.

I don't think there's anything wrong with Basswood at all. Basswood/Maple is a pretty classic combo from the 80's and 90's, so I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

Anyway... is it June yet??? :D :D

Oh man that sounds awesome! And two 7's?!?! June must be coming really slow for you :) I was considering getting an HN3+ like you got but I opted for the H3 since I like that pickup a lot already in my Cobra S. Actually that brings up an interesting subject. I asked Roy about the pickups on the 7's. What if I get my DT7 with the H3 and it just isn't quite what I'm looking for and wanna try an HN3+ or, say, an H2? They don't normally make 7 string pickups so could you special order them or are they built just for this batch of 7's made to order? Roy didn't really have a definitive answer to that. Can anyone confirm if they will or heard anything about that? I'm sure Tom knows what they'll offer. I'd be interested in knowing, just in case :D

I should post this under the 7 string thread because that's where the question belongs.
