I'm selling my favorite Tom Anderson guitar. I've owned several of Tom Anderson's including two other Cobras (one of which was Tom's personal guitar) and this one stood out as my favorite and best one I've ever played. It is an exceptionally light guitar, has great acoustic resonance and supreme playability. It's a stunning top and the pictures don't do it complete justice. Here are it's specs:
Serial: 01-24-07P
Model - Cobra
Body Finish - Jack's Blue with Binding
Body Wood - Quilted Maple Top on Mahogany
Neck Wood - Mahogany, African Rosewood Fretboard
Neck Finish - Matching Headstock, Satin Back
Nutwidth - 1 11/16 in
Frets - Heavy
Back Shape - Happy Medium Oversized .030 inch
Hardware - Chrome
Bridge - Non-Tremolo Fixed Bridge
Pickups - H1 H3
Switching - 5 Way, Pull on Tone Knob splits middle position
Strings - .010-.046 Elixir strings
This particular pickup/electronics configuration allows this guitar to get a ton of really usable tones on the fly. The bridge humbucker is very musical and balanced, splitting it yields great single coil bridge tones. Splitting the neck humbucker provides great, thick strat/tele style tones. Rolling the volume back really brings out the vintage single coil tones. Pulling the tone knob and selecting both pickups gives great tele tones. You can move through these seamlessly as the output between the pickups are very balanced across the spectrum. I bought it new from the local Tom Anderson dealer (Charley's Guitar) in 2007 and it has been my main gigging guitar since then. I'm taking an indefinite break from gigging on guitar and feel inclined to sell it rather than have it collecting dust. This is one I swore I would never sell, but I hate to see it sitting around unused. It comes with the original hardshell case and case accessories.
