so my cobra has, I believe, an H2 in the bridge and 2 M1s. I love the Ms but the H2 doesnt quite fit my style anymore. I'm thinkin of just changing the Hum and not the Ms.
Which pickup do you guys think best matches the Ms and splits nicely as well?

Are you looking to move into death metal?
If so, I can highly recommend the HN3+. ;)

On a more serious note, the H2 actually matches the Ms really well. All three are nice wide band modern sounding pickups, and as you know, the H splits really well.
If you're after more of a vintage/modern tone, then the HF2/HC2 works very well with the Ms. If you're looking to move into cleaner sounds, then the HF1+ is a really nice sounding pickup, but is a little lower output and a bit brighter than the M1s, matching better with the M1- (which is also a little brighter and lower output than the M1).
There is also the option of a covered M3 in the bridge - I assume (as I haven't tried one (yet...)) that this (or a covered M2) would match the M1s perfectly.

i suppose i forgot to mention what I was looking for... I'm not really sure but I think its more gain. I have an Atom CT that obviously has the HCs in it. I love it but I also dont want the Cobra to sound like the CT.
I was thinkin of maybe just giving at a little more with an H2+ or H3, but I dont know how it will sound with the Ms. I do like having the deep, kick you in the gut, kinda beefy tones. Something that maybe a little hotter has some good rich lows and still nice mid and highs
thanks, piped, for the info

H3 sounds like what you're after. I love that pickup in my Drop Top.
My HCS came with an M1/M1/H2+ combination, and the balance is excellent.
Too many great pickups, and not enough guitars in my collection to put them in. ;)
Talk to Roy to get a better idea of which way is best to go.
