So for the last month or so I really have only been playing my Andersons. The other guitars, other than my Martin acoustics, have been sitting.

So last night I was doing a bit of recording, and was using two of my M equipped Andersons, a Cobra S and a DTC, as well as a Custom Shop 60's Strat. I just figured I'd give that one a workout.

Now, I am not slamming the Strat. I do like that guitar as well as my other Strats and Teles. I like S style guitars because they make you work for the tone. But I had forgotten what a Marlin fight they are to play compared to my Andersons.

I have two VA equipped Andersons that are DEAD RINGERS tone wise to a vintage Strat. And now I remember why I tend to reach for an Anderson 99% of the time.

I know we say this all the time, but TAG's really are a joy to play.

I had an HTC and a Classic, my first two TA's. Wonderful guitars that raised the bar on my tone and playing. At the same time, I had a beautiful looking 04 Fender AmDlx Strat, but it didn't sound near as good as the Andy's. The S-1 system sounded like mud and I went through several different pickup systems trying to get the guitar in the same tone league as the Andersons. I tried Fralins, Suhrs, Lollars and Texas Specials. The Fralin Vintage Hots were about the best, but the guitar sat getting minimal playtime. The guitar had some stiff competition.

After losing a few hundred on the different pickup systems, I sold the guitar and bought another Anderson.

Should have done that in the first place!
