Ta , I got you !

There is no ANY tuning issue with the "new" OFR in my TAG .

Last week , for the truth sake , I've got a problem - arm socket get loose , so I had to remove Floyd and to tighten it from rear with 3mm allen wrench (there is no routing in rear cavity to access rear part of the arm socket without removing all tremolo) .

This thing never used to happens with my old OFR from the 80's , but .....

So , I use this opportunity to put enough Nut Sauce on the critical points and the results is more than marvelous .

I've spent more then one hour monitoring (and ENJOYING ) turbo tuner and tweaking the Floyd arm in the same time .

I simply did not believe it . This thing going back to the exact zero pitch almost 100 % , even after very serious arm torture

With my old OFR , who looks much more solid (?) , this is not the case , if I want to have the thing returned to zero pitch after puling up/down , I must " shake " the arm a little bit .

I don't know is this only about OFR or TAG by its self or both , but doesn't matter , my Fat'n Sexy Redy is in in tune as no any other guitar I ever saw or tried in my life !

Somehow , I like to tweak with my guitars and find the best possible set up , but after few months with my first TAG , I am feeling very boring , there is nothing to do with my Fatty anymore (except to play it all day/night long) ,this thing is simply perfect .

isn't she lovely even from this perspective ?

i'm not sure why you think the old one looks more solid, they really are the same as the ones we used in the 1980's.
but i'm glad you've got it dialed in for you. nut sauce is great for anything that needs to move freely.
you should take a look at the knife edges on your old one. if they get even a little wear it will affect the return to pitch. it also could be that the studs are not perfectly centered on the old one, causing it to bind slightly.

I used to consider it is only 6-8 hrs difference between SA and USA ( most of my USA friends/relatives are from New York and New Jersey, maybe that's why :) )
