How about an H2+?
the hf2 would be more like the jb.

+1, the HF2 has more of the mid honk of a traditional humbucker (as does the JB - and as does the HO2). It's a very versatile pickup that seems to do everything quite well, just as the JB is great for many things. The HF2 sounds like it has a more complex sparkle in the high end than the JB. It also feels a little more focused - probably more of a JB/PAF cross with the extra 'precision' you expect from an Anderson pickup.
Whereas the H2+ is more 'even' across the spectrum with more extended bass and treble frequencies and a more subtle mid emphasis. This seems to give it a really 'big' sound without the squished bandwidth of a traditional 'bucker.
With the right amp, the H2+ is IMO, the BEST pickup anywhere for hard rock, but doesn't have as much of the 'vintage' character (ie. PAFishness, alnico honk) that many people seem to look for in their pickups. Enter the HF2. It's sort of like Tom took a very nice sparkly sounding PAF and then added the most desirable characteristics of the H series to create the HF series.

I missed this dicussion for a while... just want to add i expect sweet sound from a new pickup. i hope hf2 has enough bass as well. finally as hf2 is closest to JB i think i will go for that one.

oh, right now i have SA2+ installed and it's more high mid which makes guitar sound more like tele in this position. I think i need more bass than that, not so much high end and mids as SA2+ has.
