A bit of a dumb question but I'm relatively new to this style bridge...

Noticed this screw popping out from one of the ends today, any ideas how to get it back in place?

Hammer.

Just kidding. Do you have Allen wrenches (hex keys)?

I will this weekend (away from home) -- I'm assuming I tighten it into place with a allen wrench?

Oh and hammer was my first guess...

;p

At least he didn't say chisel

UGH. That screw should never come loose. Is your Reostat Frangelator skipping?

(Really we are helpful, yes?)

that's the locking screw for the tailpiece. it just needs to be snug. it's a 1.5mm allen.

The only real solution is a new guitar.

The only real solution is a new guitar.

Why would he buy a new guitar when, with a little hammering, this one can be as good as new?

True...

But any excuse to get a new guitar should be carefully considered.

Plus then he would have multiple guitars to do hammer-ons!

Yes, definately use a hammer.

Then you'll need another Anderson.

Now, if you had a plasma cutter........................

I have been in several guitar stores here in South Africa in search of a "Reostat Frangelator" and there seems to be distinct lack of them this side of the water.
I also looked on e-bay without any success.
I am considering importing one directly from the US but I am not sure if there will be problems due to the components being on the endangered species list like Brazillian Rosewood.
Also I am not too sure if the fragile and sensitive parts would be able to handle the trip.

So currently I am sitting here with an unFrangelated Reostat:o :o :o

Make sure you have your safety glasses on, just it case it decides to spontaneously frangelate.

Hi Don,

Sitting here with my safety galsses, hard hat and safety shoes on. I am also wearing safety gloves but finding that the tone definately suffers when leather gloves are worn on the fretting hand. The tone did improve when I took the fret protecter out but not to the extent I would have liked.

I also have a hammer and chisel close at hand just in case.

Is there a warning before the spontaneous frangelation takes place or is it one of those, situation normal and the next second whoosh instantaneous frangelation, type of reactions?

Should I consider buying safety/protective underwear as I normally play sitting down with the guitar in my lap??????
There is frangelation and then there is FRANGELATION if you get my drift!!!!!!!!
