I have recently configured a new Hollow T Classic. It is trans Plum with chrome hardware. I was curious as to what a plum classic guitar would look like with gold hardware. Does anybody have any plum pics with either chrome OR gold hardware?? PLEASE send any pics to:

That's the inspiration for the guitar I have on order. Picture that with a Floyd and no pickguard and you have my drop top. Sans binding, as well.
i'll be shootin't that puppy in the next few days kb!

there's just something about the no-binding thing that makes it look like it's melting over the sides, especially in this view:

Well - here's two things I'm depressed about:
1. Thats not my guitar, it's straight off the Andy Gallery....
2. That very exact same guitar came up on ebay about 4 months ago with a $1650 "buy it now".....in the 5 minutes it took me to call my bank and check my balance and get back to evil bay - she was gone:( :( :( :( :(
I asked Roy about it - there shouldn't be an upcharge - if anything it's easier....the only thing is you're limited to darker colors that hide the edge....that guitar just melts, simply stunning.
After having both a regular Classic and Hollow Drop Top Classic for a while now - I really prefer the soft contours of the Classic body....my next one will be a no binding Drop Top....hehe, maybe even Trans Plum :D

there is not an upcharge, but it is way, way more work. it can't be done on any color tht is all stain. there is no way to sand the round over fine enough so the scratches don't show in the stain.

I have one like that and it is unbelievable. I really like it without the binding. Mine is dark honeyburst. I'll try to get some pics posted, it is so beautiful.

I will try to take some pics again soon. This guitar is wonderful and was inspired by the very same trans plum in the beginning of this thread.

I posted about that very color a few months ago. That is my favorite Anderson gallery pic. I wonder if that would look as nice in just a plain ash or alder classic? I vision a classic with a chrome floyd!Probably a grain issue if not.
The mother of pearl pick guard really sets the contrast to the finish and makes it jump (to me anyway). Congrats KB, good call!
Trans plum rocks me!:cool:

Hi Michael,
No it never made it to gallery or GOTW, although it is certainly worthy, it plays and sounds as good as it looks.:D Its a personalized selection top, I didnt even have any idea what to expect until I opened the case and WHOA was I happy, wonder who at Anderson picked that top for me. I think the non binding makes it feel and look a little more natural. A very special guitar to be sure.
