Hi all,

I'm looking to add a fuzz to play with my Hollow Classic and TopHat Club Royale. I've tried out a Fulltone '69, but it just isn't happening for me. The tone is kind of thin, unless I dime the fuzz and volume, but then it's just too noisy.

Over at TGP, the prevailing wisdom is that fuzzes are very fussy about pickups and amps. Does anyone have suggestions for my rig? I'm looking for a fat, wooly, hairy fuzz for chords and leads. I dig the tonebender stuff, but don't play a Les Paul, so all those cool Page riffs I hear might not sound the same through my HC.

I'm flipping the '69 pedal, but don't know where to turn next.

Thanks

Given that you have a Fulltone frame of reference... the '69 is sweet sounding to my ears but doesn't have a ton of gain. The '70 is gainier and spittier. The Soulbender is just big and fat. That or something like it sounds like what you're looking for, but I can't speak to that pickup/pedal combination.

Keeley modded ProCo Rat will give you that "Who's That Lady" tone quite nicely.

I agree with the last two posts ...what kind of Fuzz Sound are you looking ?? While not exactly fuzz I like an OCD and a Eternity but I am not fuzz fan

I am not typically a big fuzz fan but after trying Joe Morgan's Shadow Fuzz I'm a believer. Great sounding fuzz.
