Been going over and over this in my head. I want to convert my current set-up (03-04-09A) to a Hum-Single-Hum set-up.

I really need a Humbucker in the neck, but I want one that splits amazingly well. Thinking of going HF1-Sf1-HF2 in this particular application. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Must still get a killer strat single-coil tone in all positions when the buckers are split!

Give me your pros and cons!

Total Tom question............the HOs I hear are great neck spliters.

the h and hf series both split really well. the thing to consider with splits is that the hotter versions of the humbuckers always split better than the weaker versions. so if split and humbucker are equally important, i'd go slightly hotter than if the hb sound was more important. the 1 version of each splits better to me than the 1- version. the hf's have a softer attack on the splits than the h's but the h's may have a little deeper bottom.

tom, you're pretty familiar with my Cobra... if you remember do you know what Hum is in the bridge? I know I have M's (I imagine M1s) in the neck and middle, correct me if I'm wrong. the serial isnt in the system.

Which humbucker split gets me close to the Sf1 in the neck?
