Just got back from 10 days in Cairns-amazing how much it can rain in 10 days!
Got to visit 3 music stores-wore my Tom Anderson T shirt.
The first stop -Fernandes Music-owner says Tom is building the best guitars on the planet.
Second stop-Music City-he thought I was Tom & wanted me to buy a uke from him-I didn't claim to be Tom!
3Rd stop- Billy Hyde Music- Nice store, but once again, no acknowledgement of TAG's.
Considering that folks would ask us where we were from, and our response was Michigan, and they would say "Were is that mate-no worries?"
We loved the folks down there-went to snorkel the reef & got rain instead.
We made the best of it -guitar shops!

It's the wet season up there at the moment , I was playing up there (I live in Sydney) a couple of months ago and it was HOT and very humid .
TAG's are pretty rare in OZ , most of the time the guys in the store's look at me with a blank expression. I only know 2 other guys in Sydney that have one.
Glad to hear you still enjoyed yourself though ...bummer for the rain though!

That guitar shop in Cairns that sells the Ukuleles always makes me laugh. I went in there with my then 6 month old baby strapped to my chest in one of those baby carriers, asking about custom hand built acoustics. Straight away he starts trying to sell me a Uke for my son! BTW Sydney is nearly three thousand kilometres away from Cairns, so I don't go there that often. ;)

Even in the big cities, TAGs are definitely rare here. They also sell really quickly. When I ordered my last one, there were 7 others that arrived in the same shipment. Unfortunately, every one of those guitars had already been earmarked to a buyer. He did show them all to me, and they were nothing short of stunning. But, it would be awesome to have a showroom where we could try out some of the more exotic models like the Crowdster and newer Atoms. When people order these things without trying them first, they tend to go with the familiar, which is basically the standard S and T type guitars. Out of that shipment of 8 guitars, mine was the only one (a Cobra S) that wasn't a Classic S or T.

If I ever end up in Perth, I'll definitely check with you first. I love visiting shops that stock top of the range boutique guitars! :)
