No Relic options from the TA shop. I figured they would be on board with the rest of the guitar builder world. Oh well, one can only keep hoping.

Why make a TAG look like it has been kicked around since 1960 when TAG hasnt been around since 1960?
The relic fad is kinda sad in my opinion.

you can always relic it at home. drag it behind your car, spread peanut butter on it and let the dog go to town, let your kid dig a hole in the back yard with the guitar, use it as a loofa in the shower.

Or you could just... um... play it?

The 3+3 LP type. I really did not think Tom was gonna go there.:)

Agreed. Considering the presence of the Atom CT in the line, the Bulldog was about a billion times more surprising than no relic models. Relics are the antithesis of a TAG, IMO.

nice thread which brings life :D
TAG relic is the guitar 15 or so years old ,but in the mint condition as it has been produced yesterday ....
This is what is very interesting about TAG owners and their guitars ...
Any idea why is that so ?

I agree Big Harry, it was just a thought I had and each TAG owner shares their views. Interesting the way different ones look at the relic phase. Myself I like it.. I have a Hollow T that is dated a 94 model and it is beat. Been played out and everywhere a surefire relic in my mind. Would love to have a match to it that is new but I love the old look and neck feel. Someday we will twist Tom's arm enough he will do it for us..
not really a surprise, but something we thought would be nice to post. we have been buddies for a long, long time, and it bugs us both when we see bickering about who's best. we see it more elsewhere, but i thought it wouldn't hurt to show this here.

two guys who advance their craft and bring happiness to the guitar world. (well except to that guy that hates SS frets)
Very nice picture

Hmmm...could be a good photoshop job- you guys look like you're having way too much fun. ;) :D
we actually have quite a bit of fun together. first we talk about the crazy customers(none of you of course), then we talk about how we do things, which is the fun part. he spends way more time than me in software so he has helped me many times with that stuff.

that's a great picture. I was telling John Ou that I didn't have the stomach to ask you two to pose for a picture, especially given how post happy you know that we all are!:D I'm glad that you decided to share the "love".

Pietro had the best line in this thread :) :) that was good
i think we're laughing because it was a fun idea, but also john's wife and a couple others were snapping a zillion pictures. that guitar was getting heavy on my weak left wrist:o

WHAT an AWESOME photo! Did you guys keep the guitars? Looks like a fair trade to me!
How far apart are your booths? And do you also get to pal around with Don Grosch or Gerard Melancon or any of those folks?
no we did not trade. our booths were about 100 feet apart.
while i would say i am friendly with don, we don't talk regularly. bob smith who we love and who used to work here now lives in CO and works with don. we email regularly about life and the build process and supplies to do it. maybe some day he'll long for sunny california and come back? gerard and i email every so often and i would call him my friend for sure, but he is so far away and busy being a one man shop that we don't talk as often as i'd like.
john and i have a very different relationship. it goes all the way back to the late 70's when he was at rudy's in new york and i was at schecter making parts for him there. it's been a steady friendship helping each other along the way.

when i went over to the suhr booth they were missing a guitar and one of the suhr guys was freaking out trying to find where this "missing guitar" had disappeared to... could this have been around the time the picture was taken?

Tom this is one of my favorite pictures. Two of my favorite guitar builders I'm so glad someone snapped this. I'm lucky enough to own a few guitars from each of you and they're both great guitars. I think I've caused a few of those grey hairs I see there over the years with my questions and nitpicking and fussing....LOL !!! ;)
nitpicking, fussing, never from our customers;)

I'm sure we could close the software gap a bit! ;) :D
