for those of you that went to NAMM and those who didnt, I'd like to know what you think of Mesa's new Trans Atlantic.

I, personally, LOVED this amp and am considering driving back down to NAMM sunday night and see if they let me take one home with me... who knows, its one less amp they have to take back with them.

I cant explain the amp as well as John from mesa can so check out this vid from NAMM

$899 is a steal for an amp like that.

Tom,

did you take home a Trans-Atlantic from the show? I have been dreaming about this amp. My boss sent me to Portland, OR and I am currently in a hotel in Vancouver, WA but as soon as I get home I might have to take a drive to Mesa Hollywood and pick one of these bad boys up. I was very impressed!

no, they took them all home for a little tweak. they are the all time tweakers, and i mean that as a compliment. i don't believe they will be available till march.

I had a feeling they wouldnt be available yet. They have their site plastered with it tho so it sparks a little hope that I could get one.

That is definitely a cool sounding little amp. Can't wait to check one out in person. I love my Lone Star and this would be a nice compliment to it. Plus, the portability of it would make it nice to take as a backup.

I just sold my lonestar (I really liked it but thought i wanted something different) and this is reminiscent of it but it seems like it can do more and its less powerful of course. I dont know what to say, my mind was blown by it. It really does produce a 6L6 tone out of those 2 el84s. those videos dont give it justice you really have to hear it in person.

was that a 1x12 w/a Vintage 30 they were playing it through?

ya know, I'm not sure. I know they had it set up to 2 1x12 cabs but I failed to ask what was inside.

I was at the Mesa factory yesterday for a meeting. They have TA's rolling off the line as we speak. We actually played on two weeks ago while there.
Congrats.
I have a Mark V combo in quilted maple on order too, but I have 8-12 weeks to wait.

So what is the new cab? I don't see any info anywhere about that. What kind of speaker and how much $
Thanks,
Bill

its essentially their 1x12 Express but spec'd to look more lonestar-ish, I'm not sure what they're calling it but they had them at NAMM. tonally its identical to the express and it was the same price... that is expected to take longer than the amp itself to arrive.
