A little while ago, I published an original song, and some kind soul suggested that I should try and sell it in Nashville. He was probably just kidding, but tonight,as a joke, I gave myself 45 minutes to write and record the first draft of a song that could be used in Nashville for the “country pop” sound currently in vogue. This is the result…

… Do you think I should move to Nashville? http://s.wordpress.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

NOTHING wrong with that song (it's typical country which I'm not a huge fan of -- unless it's Brad Paisley)...

...but...

No. Only because the average songwriter earns something like 5K a year. Do you have the possibility of getting a killer day job? If not, stay home.

Do you want to perform and record your own songs? Then definitely, the record companies want to discover you where you are.

I agree with pietro. Stay home and send your songs to the record companies. passion for the music and for the career is well known by your commitment in trying and your perseverance. I am not a huge fan of country music so I am not the best critic, i can only listen to some brad paisley songs because he is a killer player and some of his songs are kinda funny.

I'd say try but dont move, at least not yet. see how interested they are in you first. Its a big decision.

Thanks guys. The moving to Nashville part is tongue in cheek - though it would fun!

Still, the song is kinda cute and funny and true and country and all. I kinda like where it's going.

Very , very nice work Mojo !
Singing and your voice is excellent , I like it .
It is not easy to seat with guitar in a front of mic ,and to start singing and playing, not at all !
Maybe to work a little bit more on guitar , on chords richness and deeper sound to match your singing .
just my honest 2 c :D
Keep rockin' !
Cheers,
Zoran
