I know the love for Tom's work runs deep here - as it should - but I thought I'd post a little blurb about another guitar that has inspired me lately. (don't worry, it's a true acoustic so it's not really in competition with any Andersons)
Duncan Africa is a really cool company/cause. The short of it is that Jay Duncan, who was building really high end acoustics, decided to do something to make the world a better place. He moved to a small village in Uganda for a few years and taught guitar building to a few of the locals, got the tools they needed and has set them up to build some really great guitars. He now goes back every so often as things are getting off the ground, but buys the guitars back from the locals who build them (to his standards) and sells them here. He's not making significant profit off the guitars, but helping these people help themselves and giving them a really cool economy.

I ordered one and got it about the same time I got my atom (a month ago). It's a beautiful guitar, and I did a brief write up on it on my blog (http://davesiverns.wordpress.com/2009/12/18/new-guitar-duncan-africa-selah/).
I thought I'd share because this is something that combines two huge passions of mine (and other people here I think) - doing something good in the world and guitars.
