whether it's Rig-talk, HRI, TGP, Gearslutz, Suhr Forum, et.al.... folks saying that "Anderson... more "modern" (and) Suhr... more "classic" "

- always puzzles me.

michaelomiya,

That was me.

And that has indeed been my experience, but I'm a modern guy and like it that way. I think it's a good thing.

The one Suhr I played felt just exactly like a great old strat to me. The one Anderson Classic I've played felt less like that.

But in truth, I'd prefer the Anderson. The Suhr was great, but something about it didn't do it for me, maybe it's the more "modern" thing I was talking about.

And in truth, both John and Tom make a lot of "vintage-ey" and "modern-ish" guitars. They're both super-awesome and I'd be happy to be "stuck with" either.

It cracks me up when I hear people that are so surprised that "Tom, himself, actually called back" and that "Tom is soo nice" my only thought is "You clearly dont know Tom" because I have known Tom for years now and he is by far one of, if not, the nicest and coolest person I have ever met. I bet everyone here and everyone you ever talk to about Tom would agree.

Oh ya, he also makes the BEST guitars in the world

I have owned Andys and Suhrs and both are great. I have sold Andys and Suhrs, the one that I am kept is this Andy:

Best clean strat tone ... "Wind Cries Mary" ... this non-descript jimithing nails it ... 'nuff said.

It is going to be tough for me to choose a T-style body guitar that I am envisioning from these two great guitar makers.

Right now there are 108 posts on that thread, (including mine.) Including Terry McInturff. That is amazing!

John Suhr (Husky) has posted in there too.

It's unusual to have a thread on TGP remain so positive over such a large number of posts. That says a lot for the tremendous respect people have for Tom and his team. :D

I always knew that Tom was a great guy. After reading this, I REALLY know that! What a wonderful compliment for you, Tom.

Forget about all the guitar stuff. Having your son say that is, well, priceless!!

CONGRATS TOM!!

That said, he would really like "Guitar Hero:Van Halen"... I'm just sayin'...

Reminds me of what Daryl Green said when he was inducted in the Pro Football Hall of Fame (He was the legendary cornerback for the REdskins, and my favorite athlete ever). He said he was prouder to be his son's father than to be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. I cried a little when I read that. Real special.

Great dads are rare. I'm tryin' to be one.

Sorry to do this, but as a life long Redskins fan, I gotta stand up and say his name is Darrell. I know, I know, "whatever" but he along with John Riggins, Mark Moseley and Art Monk being my favorite Redskins ever, I just wanted to make sure that if anybody went to look him up, they'd have his name right so he'd be easier to find. Also, Pietro, how about Darrell always with that little kid grin on his face EVERY GAME?

Yeah, sorry for the spelling.

Only "player memorabilia" I have ever bought was a Darrell Green Bobble-head. Total class act. He did have that grin, even when he was talking trash. Whole career with one team, played till LONG after most guys retired, he was that good.

On the field and off, total class act!
