Who here uses that pup configuration?
Simple question: How do you like it?
I'm thinking of getting one.
I had this configuration on a Classic. I really like the humbucker tones - especially the neck pickup however, I felt crowded when playing. These days I prefer the simplicity of a Classic 'T' with a neck humbucker and a stacked single coil for the bridge. I sometimes feel crowded when playing my Classic with 3 mini's but, not as bad as a H/S/H.
But, the tones with a H/S/H Anderson are fantastic.

Yea, the crowdedness may be a concern. I played one in a store like this a few years ago and can't remember it being a huge issue. I'm used to 3 pups, so probably not going to be a problem.
How big of a volume loss is there when switching to single coil mode?

I had two guitars like that years ago, and frankly, I preferred mini-hums after a while because of the crowded-ness.
Now I'm mostly a two-hum guy, though.

I absolutely love my Hollow Drop Top with H1-/SA1/H2+ configuration. It has been my #1 guitar for a couple of years now. I love the versatility, but the sounds/tones are quite nice as well.
These pickups are well balanced as a group and I don't lose much volume when in the split positions. If I need it, I kick in my clean boost to bring the volume back up. But, that is rare.
For most rhythm work I'm either of the split positions. Tom's humbuckers are the best splitting pickups I've ever heard. But, when I need to go all humbucker either one are great. I lean toward the H2+ though as my favorite.
If I can only take one guitar, this it it. I do have others, and they serve their purpose well, but for what I do - worship guitarist playing all styles of music, this is the one that has earned it's keep.
