so, i'm probably gonna be pulling the trigger on one of the TA seven strings and was wondering if someone could recommend some TA single coils that would match up decently with the HN3+.

after browsing through all the different models on the main TA site, the SA2 seems like a good choice to go with the HN3+ just because it's higher output.

my dilemma with pickups most of the time is that i like really hot humbuckers in the bridge, but like things a little more traditional (P.A.F./ '50s style singles, etc.) in the neck and middle positions. this sometimes leads to volume issues. there are some exceptions. the very low output Dimarzio humbucker from hell for example matches up great with higher output bridge pickups...

the woods of my guitar will be alder body with a maple/ pau ferro f/b. i'm also going with the switcheroo system.

any recommendations or more in depth descriptions of some TA pickup combos will be greatly appreciated.

I strongly suggest SF2s with the HN3+... I have that combo on 2 of my Andersons and it sounds fantastic and the output levels match really well!!! I also have one Anderson with SA2s and a HN3+ - it sounds great as well, but I prefer the SF2s.
I also ordered a seven string with SF2s and a HN3+ and I can't wait to hear what the HN3+ will do with the low B... :D :D :D

what would you say are the main tonal differences between the SF2s and SA2s? any comparisons to other pickups (fender, dimarzio, duncan, etc..)?

thanks again for the feedback :)

I am rather fond of the M series pickup. If you're purchasing a new guitar, I would give it some serious consideration. It's a mini humbucker. I got a new Cobra last week and it's the most amazing sounding guitar I've EVER heard. As I stated in another post, the M gives the shimmer of a single coil with just a bit more depth. My comparison was a more full sounding Dimarzio HS3. I have an H3 in the bridge with 2 M1's in the neck and middle respectively. I also have the VA boost which is a sweet little addition. If you want something that is almost single yet almost a bucker, I would strongly recommend you consider the M.

the sf's are made to run humcancelling all the time so we focused on that sound. it has a prettier high end running that way. the Sa gives you the option of splitting.
