Anyone using these?
I am looking at the 2 x 12 version, Vintage 30's.
Under $400!
The forum knows!
I've not experienced the Avatar cabs. I have used several Dr. Z 1x12 convertable cabs and really like them a lot. They are well built, solid, and sound good. I particularly like the design, as it allows you to play the cab with either an open, or a closed back. So, it's like having two cabs in one.
i've got a traditional avatar 2x12 open back with hellatone 30 and 60. i've had it for about 2 years and have been very pleased. i'll probably sell it soon, just because a 1x12 would suit my need better right now, but i've been happy with the avatar. great deal imo.

I've got a vintage 2x12 (with Tone Tubby Alnico/Vintage 30 combo) now and love it. I've owned 3 other cabs of theirs and all are well built and sounded excellent. Recommended. Great guys too always open to answer questions and have THE best prices on buying speakers for cabs or not, that I've found anywhere!

I loves me a 210 convertible back cab and have been meaning to get one, but they don't have any listed. :(
So, I guess I'll have to go with a "Z" cab. Had one of his combos with his special 10's and I loved them! :)
While I'm at it, I did buy a Avatar Hellatone for my 112 cab awhile back and really dig it.

I have had numerous Avatar cabinets over the years- open and closed back 2x12's, vertical and horizontals, and an open back 1x12. I admit I don't have one now, but only because I fell in love with a Marshall horizontal 2x12, and rediscovered my Mesa Theile cabs.
That said, if you want 2x10, call Dave at Avatar. He is the owner. He answers the phone usually. He has been in the speaker business since the mid 70's, when he owned a chain of speaker and car stereo places in Nor. Cal. He chucked it all in, moved to the midwest and focused exclusively on Avatar cabinets. Anyway, he may have a 2x10 model or make one for you.
As others have said- he builds a very reliable, solid, quality product at an excellent price.

Thanks Brent! I'll have to give that a try soon and see what Dave has to offer in a 210.
Btw, I also live in Bob Burt country. His cabs are very nice, but they seem a bit too pricey. But, I do understand he's a small time builder and he uses some very nice wood and finishes for his cabs. I want something I won't have to worry about getting nicked, dinged or other road rash.

If you can't find one I have one with Vintage 10's in it that I might be convinced to sell.

Jack...that's not nice! ;)
I bought two Andys this past month and need to recover financially.
I have some guitars (non Anderson) and other gear I'll be selling or maybe trading real soon.
Meantime, would you accept my left kidney as a down payment? :D
Btw, is this an Avatar cab you're talking about?
Thanks,
Ray K.

Yep, an Avatar 2X10 with Celestion Vintage 10's. Black tolex with Fender style grille cloth, open back, 4 ohm. I've had it for a couple years and don't think I've ever even taken it out of the house. It's the same size as a 2X12 so the 2X12 conversion thing they sell to make it closed back would work on it.

4 ohm.
Whew, good! I need at least an 8 or 16 ohm. Thanks anyway, Jack. Maybe someone else will take you up on it if you're itching to sell/trade it.
Much appreciated! :)

Well, it's two 8 ohm speakers so it could easily be wired to 16 ohms!! But no worries, I really hadn't even considered selling it until you mentioned being in the market for one.

Yeah, don't think I don't appreciate it! Maybe by the time I recover financially, you'll be ready to part with it. I'll keep you in mind, just in case. :)
Thanks,
Ray K.
