Just wondering is the Hf2 a good pickup for classic and hard rock, without being
to harsh,I have a TAG on order(DT classic) and want to cover a few different styles,in other words, is it a good all rounder?

Yes, this would be my choice for a good all-round pickup for those styles. If you said hard rock to metal. I'd say the regular H and HN series would be good there.
The HFs really have a nice old-school Alnico quality to them while being a little more open than your average PAF. They clean up really well too. IMO all of Tom's pickups clean up well, but these have a little extra sparkle up top that perfectly ices the cake. :)

Yes. The HF2 is the perfect pup for classic rock IMO. I replaced the H2+ in my classic with one. The HF2 seems to have the same output volume wise, and will drive the amp hard but it's a little smoother and has a little twang to it. The H2+ is a little tighter and more focused to me and seemed a little harsh on the cleans.
