Hi Don ,
Nope .
No any Anderson dealer on old continent , but there is one more member from SA on this Board .
So , now we are two SA members , owning in total 1 Anderson guitar , 1 is on its way , and 3 of them are still in my mind , in process of designing
Cheers ,

Thanks Spirithunter !

Hi Tom , nice to "meet" you :)
Any idea where exactly and to whom you'd shipped all these stunning TAG's ?

Thanks to this Forum , GaryMac , another SA guy here , contacted me ,and I will check his Koa on Basswood HDT next week , I can't wait .

I am 100 % new in TAG and still busy absorbing ALL I can find about your guitar works ,so I might be able very soon to put the right question and to choose the right specs for my first TAG .

Thanks for making my life so exciting at this very moment !
Cheers ,
Zoran (this is my real name :) )

how can you not use such a cool name as zoran? i'd be all over that.
andy mcgibbon? at guitar specialist was the dealer.

Big Harry

How the World is small .
Andy McGibbon is one of my dearest friend here in SA , my luthier, very good guitar player, and more than anything else one of the nicest guy I ever meet here .
In this very moment ,all of my 3 main guitars are with him , we are doing some modes ....

Regarding my real name ,I want to keep separate my Fly Fishing world (check one of my Sexyloops Front Pages http://www.sexyloops.com/2007.shtml?0413 or http://www.google.com/search?q=zoran+&sitesearch=www.sexyloops.com) and my real job from my R & Roll world
Anyway in that specific FP you might find a connection between those two :music and fly casting

Cheers,
Zoran
ps
I'll see Andy tomorrow, what to tell him ? :)

tom
08-14-2009, 02:43 PM
definitely tell him hello for me.if he'd like to start something up again we could probably do that. we understand that he wouldn't need lots of guitars.

Big Harry
08-14-2009, 02:57 PM
OK , I will tell him like that .
Economical crisis , high transport costs and 14% SA VAT is killing his bussines , I can see that .
Only weak dollar can save that deal , but then ,this is not good for you
Anyway ,life is still good and everything will come much better .
Cheers,
Zoran

Hi All,
I will be taking my HDT Koa on Basswood and my recently aquired Atom down to visit Zoran sometime this week.
I am in Pretoria and Aoran is in Johannesburg.

Its one thing to "lust" after an Anderson by looking at the pictures, trawling the forum and searching the web, but heaven help him when he gets a chance to actually handle and play two of Tom's finest:p :p :p
I have a sneaking suspicion it will all end expensively for poor old Zoran.
I will try to remember to take my camera with me and try to get some pictures of him sinking slowly into the abyss that is Anderson ownership!!!!!!

By the way Zoran, my HDT Koa is nicer than the one in mdrs's pictures!!!!! And my one has the Switcheroo and blower fitted.

Stay tuned for further updates all the way from Sunny South Africa:D :D

Yes , Gary from Pretoria , SA is that brilliant Guy who will unselfishly spent his time and kindly introduce me to the TAG world !

In my country there is a saying (ok I'll try to translate on English ) :
...no one real man is old when a young , beautiful, willing woman is on the table ! ...

I am sure TAG will make me young again ,as on my first gig ,when I was in my age of 13..

Do you remember yor first taste of cigarette, first taste of Whiskey ...first kiss ...first ------ha ha I caught you , I know what you mean ...
You are meaning on sound and harmony of your first chords successful played on guitar ...:)

Funny enough , I am assessing new guitars with simple strumming , always looking for that magic and in the same time innocent sound from my youth when I managed to play E,D or G chord for the first time in my life....

Gary , feel free to catch that moment moment on your camera !
Only really BIG Guitars can make it !

Cheers,
Zoran

Zoran,

The first three pics are from the dealer who I bought my Koa HDT from. The final two I took in my home. My photo show the true color of the guitar. The dealer pics are too red.

Gary may be beginning his sales pitch........as his Koa HDT can't possibly be finer than mine.

Hey, have fun, and enjoy being captivated by Tom's wonderful guitars. Worse things can happen to you..................

GaryMac

Don,

Andersons are scarcer than rocking horse "droppings" and chickens teeth over here in South Africa. So it aint no sales pitch;) ;)

Failing in the "mines is prettier than yours stakes" I can categorically state a undeniable fact that even Don will have to concede, "my one has more switches than Don's":D

The Defence rests:p

Why does Koa looks so orange-ysh ?
Is this some specific finish ,or is it natural part of Koa colour ,or this is about light and camera ?
I do prefer Don's photos (color) more than dealer ones .

Good Morning Gary ,it seems American guys are still sleeping ...

Zoran,

The orange/red coloration in the dealer's photos are lighting and camera related. The actual color of the guitar is much closer to the last two pics that I took here in my home.

Remember, too, that all or our computer screens may vary in their color balance as well. So, what I'm seeing may be quite different than what you are seeing. However, I do agree that the first three photos above (the dealer photos) do look orange/red and the actual Koa HDT does not.

Here are some other pics of Koa. The first two are two raw blocks of Koa. I took the photos in indirect sunlight, and the color looks very accurate, on my screen here.

http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m114/mdrs1/CIMG1111.jpg

Here are two solid Koa guitars I made;

http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m114/mdrs1/Electric%20Guitars/Miscelaneous/variousphotos456.jpg

This is a Gibby J-200 with a Koa body. The photo is a bit dark. But, again, you can see that Koa isn't really orange/red;

When you get Gary's Koa HDT in your hands, well, that will help a lot too!!

Gary............So cool of you to have introduced Zoran to your HDT and your Atom. Those photos are precious.......

Zoran, you are done for!! :) You look great with both. So, it's settled then. You need one of each.

That may cost you SEVERAL pairs of shoes..........I know full well it has cost me at least that much..........

So, how'd you like them, Zoran??

Big Harry

Don ,
On the first view:
-regarding a look , that Koa has some magic build in , and force me just to watch Her .
-talking about weight and first feeling , how She seats in my hand and on my body , I can only use analogy when one have a premium sex with lovely woman :p
-tone and sounding is different than anything else I've been heard before , it remains me on every good sound I used to have with another guitars , but still stays unique , different and brand new !!???
-my Mesa DR RK II was on the master volume settled around 8:30 , but I managed to produce such a feedback for which I usually need 10:30 and more with my other axes (which aren't so bad ) ,sustain is incredible ..
-The Neck ...hm...if out there exists something that we can call perfect , that's it !
-Playability -that was a main reason I asked Gary to check out his HDT . I realised I 'll need bigger frets and #9-46 strings ,because of my playing style -lots of bend ,vibrato , legatos and some kind of blues pentatonic "shredding"
-more, if Tom can make me scalloped frets from 12th to 22nd fet ,it will be top notch Guitar ever !

Now , I am trying to get more foxused what I exactly want and give that call to Tom & Roy...:)

Cheers,
Zoran
