Hi guys! I haven't spent much time around here lately, but HAD to jump in and share the excitement that I am adding a new TAG to the arsenal - the GoTW Short T!!!
I really prefer the short scale for certain things like fancy jazz chords, and love the T, and I always thought "gee, wouldn't it be cool to have a Tele with a 24 3/4" scale length..." so this guitar was pretty much MADE FOR ME - and I totally came across it by accident! Thank goodness I tracked it down and it was still available, or I would have had to order one and then be on heavy medications until it arrived.:D
WOOHOO!!! Thanks Tom for your vision and creativity and to Roy and everyone at TAG for making the best freakin' guitars on the planet.
Peace all,
Tom

I'm psyched! I've had plenty of success playing rippin' leads through a traditional tele with the right overdrive and amp... and the short scale should thicken things up interestingly, and make for easier legato playing.
I can't wait to get her! Yes there are some nice photos at the GoTW page. I will give a full report as soon as I have a chance to check it out.
Also pretty cool that this is the first one! (Crap... I may have to order another... and another... and... this is NOT good.)

The Short T is a pretty amazing guitar, just as much as any other TAG ;-)
The short scale makes for some nice smooth legato runs and complex chords that would be harder to finger on a longer scale neck, and mellows out and thickens up the tone, although there is still the requisite Tele spank and bite, but none of the shrillness or icepickiness one can experience with some Teles. The VA Booster beefs up the tone too and makes for a great well-rounded guitar for anything from jazz to classic rock to smooth fusion.
This is a very versatile guitar that is light and comfortable and just inspiring to pick up and play. It's such a joy to be able to just have the music flow through you and not have the guitar fighting back.
Of course all the fantastic playability and action are there in spades. And this is the first TAG guitar I've had with the wedgie neck joint. It's as tight and stable as a set neck, I think. It really feels rock solid.
Tom Anderson Guitarworks makes the greatest electric guitars on the planet. Every one I ever picked up has been perfect. I could go on and on about it!
