I just went back to an H2+ after a brief flirtation with an H3+

Problem arose when I saw a 3/4 inch piece of solder fall from somewhere on the electronics. The guitar is H-S-S, true single coils with a 2 way split switch for the humbucker, tone pot that turns on the bridge when lifted and a standard 5 way.

I ALWAYS draw out a diagram when I do a pickup change but missed this little piece of solder.

Strange thing....the electronics still work. I swear things sound brighter when I split the humbucker and play that pickup alone, or in conjunction with other pickups.

are you sure the vintage voicing resister didn't get disconnected? a 3/4" piece of solder fell and you can't find it?

Thanks Tom. I bought this guitar used, the electronics are pretty messy looking so it is a little haphazard to follow.

I am assuming that the piece would likely have originated on the volume pot correct? Any hints at a starting point to look would be greatly appreciated.

the vintage voicing resister would be on the 5 way. there would not be a 3/4" piece of solder anywhere in there from us. depending on the wiring, there could be a jumper wire in the 5 way that should cover 4 terminals. it would be pretty tough to get that hot enough to make it fall off. what exactly is in the guitar? i could send you a diagram of how it should look.

There is a wire on the 5 way that covers 4 terminals.

I would love a diagram since I am not sure what wiring mods may have been done before i got this guitar. Here are the electronics according to the serial # search

Pickups - VA2R VA2 H2+
Switching - 5 Way, Mini Switch Splits, Pull Adds Bridge, Vintage Voicing
