Black Hardware On TAG's

Sorry if this has been beat to death but I could find it thru the search. I've owned a guitar or two with black hardware and think it looks decent as a complete package.

I found a HDTT that has black hardware, tuners - knobs - bridge, it's the first one I've seen aside form some Floyd's. What is the general consensus, is it prone to flaking or wearing like gold? Is it special order only?

it's pretty tough. any wear i have seen has been from lots of heavy use, and it wears cleanly, not pity. we make very few, and most of them are floyds, but it's an option and we're happy to do it.
on a side note , last week be built a bowling ball pro am and it had chrome hardware. they're almost always black hardware. it had a clean look.

3 of my 4 Andersons so far have black hardware (all Floyds though) and I have never had any problems with any wear. I find it as easy or even easier to maintain as chrome.

I have a HDT with black hardware that I bought new in 1998. There's no visible wear on the hardware despite being played nearly every day over the 11 years.

you're safe on this one michael, it had rosewood and was a special order for a customer back east. no pics of this one, it left on wednesday.
