Nobody in my area is willing to dress my stainless steel frets, so I'm having to (learn how to) do it myself. Once I level the SS frets, I will have to adjust the string slot depth on the nut. What is the string slot depth on the nut of a Crowdster (fret height [.043] + ___) that y'all use when you build them?

FYI...A local luthier told me that SS frets are replaced, not dressed. Is that true? If so, do y'all sell SS fret wire for a 2006 Crowdster+? I only need a couple of feet of SS fret wire (Jescar FW43080-S). (Jescar only sells fret wire in mass quantities.)

Thanks for your technical assistance and help!

whoa, whoa,whoa.
we dress stainless frets every day. stainless takes no more time than nickel frets the way we do them. if you have to do lots of leveling due to deep grooves from too much cowboy chords, then the most time will be spent on recrowning. with the small frets this will still not be bad.
if you've not done frets before i'm not sure this is the guitar to learn on. if you want to email me i'll tell you all we do. it's not a secret, just too long to write here.
