I am looking to sell or trade a gorgeous Mesa Boogie 4x10 cabinet. My current rig uses mostly 12" speakers. While I love the warm, open tone of this cabinet, it just doesn't match up well in my current band situation.

the cabinet is finished in a gorgeous Emerald green vinyl with a wheat/tan grill, very classy. It is loaded with Mesa's AlNiCo 10" speakers, wired at 8ohms, rated at 80 watts. Includes a well used slip cover and my home made 3rd back panel to convert it to a closed back if you desire.

$350 plus shipping. I will consider trades for quality 1x12 or 2x12 cabinets.

I do also have a pair of Weber ceramic 10" speakers that I bought new and installed in the cabinet, mixing with 2 of the AlNiCo's. Adds some punch to the cabinet. Those are $180 new. I'd sell them for $150 for the pair.

I must be photo challenged, as I can't get photos embedded into this post, but they are available if you want to see the cabinet.

Si senor, it is open back. I did make a very nice extra back panel that fits snugly and makes it into a "sealed back". With the 2 Webers in it, the "sealed" back had a nice punch to it, but stock open back it really has a nice smooth, vintage vibe.

I got this cabinet after talking with my pal (and TA endorser) Michael James. He and I were gabbing on some cab and speaker combination ideas, and he was jonesing for a 4x10, so I got (he ended up having Mesa send him a 2x12 sealed back). Anyway, I do really like it, but it just isn't quite the right vibe with my Heartbreaker head in my current band, so I need to stick with closed back 12's for consistent tone.

Thanks Tom,
Brent

Good morning Tom.

Yeah, weight gets to be important. I have one more birthday before the odometer rolls to 50, so anything I own has to weigh less than my age......

According to the unofficial "stand on the scale with the speaker before/after" test, the cabinet weighs about 40 lbs. It feels about the same weight as my sealed back Avatar 2x12 with V30's, so that is about right. Again, all very informal and unscientific.

Well, I think our Heartbreakers should swap cabinets. You don't use your 2x12, which I use all the time, and you are working your head around a 4x10 which I am not using, and they are both green..... Seems like a trade made in heaven.

Feel free to call me at 707-235-9824 if'n you want to talk about it, or I can send pics to you directly if you want.

Best,
Brent

These pics don't show off the green color very well, but you can see the cabinet. The back photo shows the Webers installed in the bottom of the cabinet, but they have since been removed and the stock AlNiCos put back in.
