Steel baseplate for VA23 bridge pickup?

Tom and members, have you had any experience mounting a steel baseplate to your VA23 bridge pickup? I have used them in the past on other guitars with pretty good results but am reluctant to mess with TAG stuff before asking. Thanks.

have not done that, but also haven't felt the need for a change to that pickup. we used to years ago add a steel plate to a ceramic single coil we made. thought it hardened the top end on that one. that would ]n't be something i'd want out of the va. but you can certainly try it. let us know what you hear.

attach it is such a a way that it can't vibrate or you'll have a microphonic mess on your hands.
