I'd have to agree with that!!!! :D
Are those pickup rings black or chrome?

schofnsteen

Swapped to chrome low profile. The black made the pickups look too big. It also lightened the top!!

Oh, so you put them on after market, right?
I was thinking that I haven't seen chrome PU rings as an option...

hey Markus, if you go with it, let me know where you ultimately source those pu rings, 'cause I'm actually considering the same on my DT's...

I agree that the chrome ones will lighten up an already brilliant top!
thx.m.

Hey Michael,

I'll probably stick with what Tom will put on my just ordered Drop Top, which is probably going to be black PU rings. I'm going for HC pickups this time, so there's already going to be enough chrome on the guitar. Any more and it would start to look like a Harley Davidson!! ;) :D :p

Have a great weekend,
Markus

Wow!! I believe you just ended any desire I've had of one day owning a Ebony Les Paul Custom!

How does she sound/play???? You say she has a flamed maple cap. Is the black "see-through" or solid??

Conrats on a beautiful guitar!

Top is solid. Sold my Les Paul '59 reissue recently. Had several Customs. I could not deal with the ergonomics and the poor playability and craftsmanship. No looking back and NO REGRETS!!!!!!!!!!
