Haven't had a TAG in a few years. The last one I owned I bought used from a friend and just couldn't bond with. It was hollow and didn't have the punch that I needed, plus, the basswood body didn't give me what I needed in terms of clean tone punch!
So, I call Nathan at Eddies when I see this one roll in. I just knew that I wasn't going to like it. Told him I was going to come over and check it out and that I would bring my PRS 513 rosewood with me to a/b the two......
NO COMPARISON!!! This guitars sustain, note bloom and ultra wide range frequency response floored me!!!
The neck is amazing! Soooooooo easy to play!!
I have gigged and toured heavily with the 513 for nearly three years. I thought the guitar had opened up really well, but compared to the TAG it was just dead and lifeless. The TAG is new, and had waaaaaay more life to it. I couldn't believe it!!!
Anyway, I will be picking her up tomorrow, and the 513 will be history!
