I make her dinner and she makes one for me this year. Its the new economy reality birthday weekend!

I totally hear ya.

My new economy reality dinner tonight was Pizza from our local Pizza joint! It's actually really GREAT pizza, so not complaining..............

Actually, come to think of it, my wife MUST BE A GENIUS, as she's been bringing us pizza from this pizza place for years. She OBVIOUSLY anticipated the economic downturn, and has been trying to SAVE ME MONEY.........

WOW, THAT'S A NEW CONCEPT...........:D

I am trying my best to keep up the Sub Sahara African branch of the Forum but the Anderson's are a little bit thin on the ground in this neck of the woods. ;)
Seems to be no Tom Anderson dealer in South Africa any more.:(

last year while i was on tour with ricky martin in south africa, i was probably the largest anderson dealer at the time in the country. i had 6 andersons with me on tour.

So Suriel, why didnt you call me when you were over here in South Africa, you could have left one or two of your Anderson guitars here and then "replenished" your stock when you got home.
The problem is no one wants to deal with you on the US e-bay if you mention shipping to deepest darkest Africa.
Also I was quoted $ 600.00 by a dealer to ship a guitar from the States!!
Then there is import duty and 14% VAT when it hits these shores.
Rand vs Dollar exchange rate is also a major factor.
Maybe next time you are over here Suriel you could leave me a Cobra and an Atom CT, I am sure they are pletifull over there and it would be less stuff to carry back with you to the States:)

So before you guys start complaining about the cost of Andersons on that side of the pond please bear in mind how SERIOUSLY expensive they are here, and there is nowhere to go to try out the various models.
Morale of the story: your economy may be in the toilet, but at least you have lots of nice guitars to choose from!!!

Tom, I would love to know who you are thinking about dealing with here in South Africa. If you could drop me PM maybe I can give you some "insight" into the South African market.

There are a few of us here in South West, Albuquerque NM, where the chili is hot and so are the TAG's.

gary, no exageration, but during all of my overseas travels, i get ridiculous offers to unload my guitars and rig for top-dollar. however, if i'd do that i'd be unemployed, need my andersons. and truly, i wouldn't be doing my part to stimulate the local economies with anderson dealers.

did someone say stimulus-package?!i am hereby officially submitting my "name nomination" for the new anderson semi-hollow guitar with f-holes to be named the "the anderson stimulus!" :D

For the "Joisey" market TAG could build a "Soprano" model to go along with the baritone model.
