Hi i am finaly after a few years decided to order a new TA! I feel like a child getting his most wanted toy!

Model - Drop Top
Body Finish - Burnished Orange Burst with Binding, dark back colour
Body Wood - Flamed Maple Top on Adler
Neck Wood - Hard Rock Maple, Rosewood Fretboard
Neck Finish - Black Headstock, Satin Back
Nutwidth - 1 11/16 in
Frets - low rise: .104w x .047 tall
Back Shape - .050 inch oversized
Hardware - Gold

Pickguard -

I would like the Burnished Orange Burst finish, on a flame maple top.. But wonder what flame confuguration i would get on a standard top.. Maby i dont have to order a special selected top?

does anyone have pics or links to see standard flame maple tops.?

I custom ordered/bought a Drop Top with a Quilted Maple Top last year and even though I didn't go with the select maple top option, I'm more than happy with the maple top the guys in the shop picked for my guitar (see the Jack's Pacific Blue Burst Drop Top in the middle below)

All the Anderson maple tops I've seen are all beautiful, but if you're after a very specific pattern or look, it might be worth calling Roy and see whether you should go with a select top.

Hope this is helpful.

Cheers,
Markus

I have missunderstood the fret wire size i see.. i have heavyes on my current, and want to feel just a bil more fretbord... I did not look at the numbers mut i can see now that mediums are taller than heavyes!

so I think low rise would be my choice! "low rise: .104w x .047 tall"

oddly, mediums do have more fretboard feel to me. low rise certainly do more.

oddly, mediums do have more fretboard feel to me. low rise certainly do more.

The reason may be that it is teoreticaly more space between the frets, because the mediums are not so wide? so you dont need that much force to press the string down twoards the fretboard!?? and partly the shape.. our fingertips is the most sencible part of our body and we can feel hundreds of a milimeter!!

My problem is that its so few Anderson guitars in Norway, and dont have the oportunity to try different shapes and compare....

but i think lowrise is my final decition..

As far as flamed maple goes, everything I've seen from Tom has looked like my Crowdster. He always puts great looking stuff on top. It's only, as I recall, the quilted stuff you pay extra for. Is there "select flamed top"? I can't imagine much better than this.

You made a sound decision... T/As rock... As does the .050 over neck.

Here's my latest... Thanks to Tom, Roy, and Staff for perfection!

Ha... That ain't all! :p I'm kidding... for people that think you're serious; it's actually .050 is or 5/100ths of an inch oversize. So instead of an Even Taper .810, it would be .860.

:D

0.050" (50 thou) doesn't seem like much, but it's amazing how a little difference like that can make all the difference to neck playability. :)

Sounds awesome! Daves has a New Drop Top on there with a +.30 neck, Koa Top that is KILLING me. Be a long time before I get a second guitar though. Best of luck and let us know how it works out!
