With great pain, I list this for sale. Mint (1 imperfection: tiny ding on back of headstock) McPherson for sale, I'm the original owner and have had it almost a year. Got it from Atlanta Premier Guitars. Premium Adirondack top w/ Pau Rosa back and sides. McPherson says that Pau Rosa is from Brazil and is very similar to rosewood, tonally along the lines of Madagascar Rosewood. This is an exotic wood combination that sells new for $6450 flat pricing (can't talk a McPherson dealer down on the price. If they sell if for less, they lose the line).
These guitars are pretty much in a league of their own. There are plenty of great small shop acoustics around, but McPhersons are quite unique and special (the pictures tell the story). Its acoustically VERY loud. Lots of great innovation in these (like our beloved Tom Andersons). Some cool features: the fretboard doesn't touch the spruce top of the guitar, its cantilevered. This lets the top resonate a lot more than some more traditional designs. Very cool technology in the bracing as well. Check out the website or ask me about it.
Why am I selling? To buy more Andersons, of course. My acoustic gigs have kinda dried up and I'm playing the Andersons more and more. I'm looking for $4500 paypal'd and shipped in ConUS. The only trades I will consider are ones where I end up with a TA Atom (or 4 :) )
Note: These ARE actual pictures of my guitar (taken by McPherson before my guitar left the shop on its way to Atlanta Premier Guitars). Interesting enough, this exact guitar is the one shown on the McPherson site displaying this custom wood combination. I'll try to get some more current pics up as well.
