Hey guys, I have quite a few nice amps, one of then being a 2007 Tone King Imperial (2 x 6V6 and 20 watts). It's a great amp that will really let you hear what your guitar sounds like. It's has a transparent quality when set clean, yet sounds great cranked.
At the NAMM show, Tone King owner and super nice guy Mark Bartel had the new 40w Metropolitan there to demo. The amp has all the goodness of the Imperial and then some. It has 4 x 6V6, and weighs around 40 lbs with the 1 x 12" special design speaker. It has 2 channels (foot switchable) and each channel has it's own variable output power circuit that takes it from 40w down to .1w. It does this without changing the tone. Crank it up and get some great 6v6 breakup, then dial the output down as low as you want. It will get down to whisper with the same level of crunch and the exact tone you have dialed in. I have a Metropolitan on order and should be getting it in the next month or so (I hope).
