Hello gang,

I purchased an H3 to replace the H2+ currently in my drop top, I installed it tonight, wired exactly as the H2+ is wired, and the pickup fails to produce a sound, except when split.

I removed it, placed the H2+ back in the axe, and everything works OK.

Is there a way I can test the H3 using a multi-meter ?

Thank you !

read between black and white, then red and green. they should be the same. if not one coil may be dead. if it is sometimes they can come back to life by reheating the joints on the bobbin and adding just a touch of new solder.

Thanks Tom !

black/white= 6.90 ohms
red/green= infinity...

I guess 1 coil is toast

I'll try the heating trick and re-soldering tomorrow.
I hate buying stuff from the internet....

if heating doesn't fix it you can send it in and we can replace the dead one.

That's so kind...

I will try to explain this to the seller so he takes it back, hopefully, THEN I'll buy a brand new one from you, it's better that way. :D
