i've played the collings i-35 and it's an absolute 335 killer. i got rid of my 335 and a few clones i had around to get one of these. nothing but praise, however, if the supreme commander would just consider adding one to his arsenal, please. :(

i should have a collings? i did have a '57 335 prototype once. humbuckers but no neck binding, it was pretty cool. have been pondering a hollow guitar but probably not with the result of a 335. to me 335's have a very narrow sound, a good one to be sure, but very limited application. since the collings is not plywood, does it cover more bases?
we'll see how spare time goes. right now i'm home working on the programming of a lefty ct, we have 2 on order. then i have to add all the variants we took orders for on the baritoms that we have never made before. then there's the basses, 7 strings, amps and acoustic guitars...just kidding on everything after baritoms.

Mojo, you take awesome photos of your guitars! Can you share your technique for getting such great pics? Type of camera, lighting, etc.

Now, if you have a separate studio set up just for photographing instruments with thousands of dollars worth lighting and other acoutrements, then never mind! Actually, I'd still be interested.

It's amazing how you capture the details of your guitars, such as the grain in the binding of your Collings. Thanks!

I have an old Sony F707 camera w/ a 10X zoom that I have been using for a long time. Nothing all that fancy as you can see.

No studio - I wish! - only natural light in my living room.

I do use Photoshop to take care of the levels from time to time. I don't have a secret per se, other than I am actually not all that good at it, and tehrefore tend to take tons of pics. The ones you see are the ones that made the cut ;)

i have been reading a book on digital photography by scott kelby, quite basic but very useful. it seems that one of the keys to nice photos (digital or not) is tryng to take advantage of as much natural light as possible. in other words, very little flash. many cameras have a setting that's called apeture priority mode "A" on the dial, a good place to start for getting decent pics. however, a tripod is reccommended.
